A team from IIT Hyderabad comprised of students Adarsh Pugalia and Shalin Shah bagged the first prize of $10,000 at Codevita, the fourth edition of the global coding challenge for students organised by the leading IT services, consulting and business solutions major, Tata Consultancy Services.
TCS CodeVita is a contest for engineering and science students to experience the joy of coding and to sharpen their programming skills through real-life computing practices. The contest also aims at identifying the talent, besides providing the student community, an opportunity to earn peer recognition.
In a closely-fought, marathon finale which lasted over six hours, the winning team emerged on top of 14 others as they solved coding problems and algorithms in a highly gamified environment which tested the competitors’ technical knowledge, their ability to execute and implement computer code in a structured setting as well as their speed, agility and creativity. All the 30 students who made it to the finals have been given provisional offers from TCS.
